Café Intermezzo Review – Hartsfield-Jackson Airport
After a long day of international transit (or domestic for that matter), Café Intermezzo is a gem hidden in the cluster of franchise restaurants and fast food stalls in the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. Nestled in tandem with a comfortable and quaint bookstore in Terminal B with the ever present aroma of fresh brewed espresso, it’s the perfect place to lose yourself in and forget that you’re stuck in transit, in the middle of a busy international airport.
Having just spent a little over a month in Nicaragua, Rachel and I were craving something that was very difficult to find in Central America: a good salad. Cruising through the menu, our eyes alit upon the Sante Fe Cobb Salad with spicy ranch dressing. At any other time, it would have been hard to pass up the numerous other delectable items on the menu, but a craving is a craving and must be satisfied and satisfied it was! The
salad was perfectly proportioned on a bed of Romaine lettuce, complete with smoked turkey, tomato, pepperoncini peppers, hard-boiled egg, red onion, diced cucumbers, cilantro, and all topped with a healthy helping of pepper-jack cheese. It was the perfect dish to satiate our desire for salad!
Along with our satisfying salads, we ordered a dish of the spicy hummus, another delicious dish. The hummus was accompanied with fresh pita bread, tomato, pepperoncini peppers, and Romaine lettuce. With the myriad options of dishes on the menu, this restaurant will be our new hangout anytime we’re in Atlanta on a layover… or more often than not when our flight gets delayed or canceled.
